The International Wood Products Association (IWPA) has announced Stephanie J. Rodrigue as Managing Editor of its International Wood magazine. Rodrigue brings over 25 years of experience in the wood products field, from cruising timber and outside sales, to Director of Marketing positions in the hardwood lumber, flooring, and architecture fields. She also owns the marketing firm, YOUR Marketing Department, which she has operated for the past decade.
“We are excited for Stephanie to take on this new role with the IWPA team, and to deliver additional value to members through the International Wood magazine and related marketing and communications activity,” said Bradley McKinney, Executive Director. “Stephanie brings a uniquely valuable background to IWPA and we look forward to continuing to tell the story of international wood products with her expertise.”
International Wood: The Guide to Applications, Sources and Trends is an annual publication that reaches more than 20,000 key decision makers involved in the specification, manufacture, import and distribution of wood products in North America and is designed to serve as a helpful resource for readers. Each article contains an updated Source Box that allows woodworkers and specifiers to immediately learn more about the highlighted species. Readers can then turn to our Buyers Guide, which directly connects specifiers with suppliers that can help them source the most beautiful and highest performing wood products from around the world. The 2021 magazine, released last fall, builds on the success of 2020’s first-ever enhanced digital edition that includes even more exciting interactive content as well as special digital advertisements that connect readers more directly with the companies that make the magazine possible.
Rodrigue, a longtime partner to IWPA who has served as Assistant Editor for the magazine, will begin the role of Managing Editor immediately. Included in her role will be the task of working closely with companies to secure advertisement sponsorships to support the magazine’s production. Joe O’Donnell, IWPA’s Director of Government and Public Affairs, will serve as Assistant Editor for the magazine, providing strategic guidance and supporting alignment with IWPA’s mission and priorities, in addition to his role as IWPA’s lead advocate to Congress, federal agencies, and international fora on policy matters impacting IWPA members.
“I am looking forward to collaborating with IWPA members and industry leaders to develop storylines for feature articles and highlight the importance and positive impact of the international wood products industry,” Rodrigue said. “Wood is truly unique among renewable resources,” she said, “and I am thrilled to be grow my partnership with IWPA to continue delivering on their mission to build acceptance and demand in North America for globally-sourced wood products from sustainably-managed forests.”
Rodrigue’s uniquely befitting background includes a B.S. in Forestry from the State University of New York (SUNY) College of Environmental Science & Forestry in Syracuse, and an M.S. in Forest Products Marketing from Virginia Tech. Originally from New York, she now resides in North Carolina with her husband and two daughters.
