Vivo X Fold has been spotted in the wild

2022 probably will be known as the year when the segment of foldable smartphones will become more popular or at least will offer more diversity. Samsung pretty much has the segment under its belt with the Galaxy Z series, but that may change soon as more and more brands are introducing foldable devices. We saw the arrival of Xiaomi last year into the segment, Oppo also unveiled its Find N, and now another company in the BBK Electronics group is preparing the terrain for its very first foldable. In fact, this will be the year of many “firsts” for Vivo. The company will introduce a new tablet, and a new foldable smartphone under the rumored Vivo X Fold name.

Unfortunately, there is no official word from Vivo regarding the launch of this device. But so far the rumors have been pointing to its release. Today, a new live image has emerged to give us a blurry glimpse of the handset.

Apparently, the device in the leaked image is the upcoming Vivo X Fold. The leaked shot only shows the device’s foldable display and confirms some of its key specs. However, this seems to be a blurry leak as the device had its back panel covered with a case, probably to partially hide its design. Just like Oppo, Vivo seems to have made a great job in making a foldable display with almost no interruption in the hinge part.

Vivo X Fold alleged specifications

According to the leaks, the Vivo X Fold smartphone will pack an 8-inch foldable screen with QHD+ resolution. The device will also support a 120 Hz refresh rate. The outer panel will have a curved finish and has a 6.5-inch diagonal. The device has a Full HD+ resolution, and for now, there is no word if it has any kind of high refresh rate. We can bet on a 90 Hz refresh rate for the outer display.

Vivo X Fold

Under the hood, the Vivo X Fold will pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. As per the rumors, the device will be paired with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of Internal Storage. The rear brings a rectangular block with a circular camera module inside. The leaks state that there is a 50 MP main camera sensor, a 48 MP ultrawide snapper, a 12 MP tertiary sensor with 2 x zoom, and an 8 MP periscope sensor with 5 x optical zoom.

For now, we need to wait and see if more leaks will pop out.
